It is understood that the charge relates to the killing of 22-year-old Charles Bennett last week.
Mr Bennett, who was from the New Lodge area of north Belfast, was found dead with bullet wounds on wasteground off the Falls Road last month.
Mr Bennett's family had reported him missing to the police five days before his body was discovered.
