POLICE CHIEF'S WIDOW TIED UP AND ROBBED The widow of Merseyside's former chief constable has been left "bruised and shocked" after being tied up and beaten during a raid at her home.
Lady Muriel Oxford, 73, widow of Sir Kenneth Oxford, was robbed on Saturday at her home in Rainford, Merseyside.
She was tied to a chair and struck several times by the robber.
Wedding and engagement rings were pulled off Lady Oxford's fingers, and other jewellery was also taken.
