DROUGHT THREATENS MILLENNIUM BAPTISMS A drought in the Holy Land may threaten the plans of Christian pilgrims travelling to the River Jordan for millennium baptisms.
Up to 700,000 Christians visit Yardenit in Israel each year to undergo baptism in a ritual from the New Testament.
The water level at the site on the southern tip of the Sea of Galilee is now at a record low.
A spokesman said: "It might dry up if we don't have sufficient rain."
