DRIVE TO CUT NUMBER OF TEENAGE MOTHERS The Government has launched a £10m drive to cut the number of teenage mothers, and persuade those who do become pregnant to stay at school.
Grants to local education authorities will fund a variety of projects.
Tactics include playing them a half- hour tape of a baby crying, and making them push a heavily-loaded buggy.
Britain has the worst record on teenage pregnancies in Europe - 7,700 under-16 conceptions a year.
