WHAT DO YOU SEE DURING A TOTAL ECLIPSE?
This summer's total eclipse of the sun
takes place on Wednesday, and in the UK
is best viewed in Cornwall.
The eclipse happens in four stages and
the total eclipse itself will last only
two minutes, occuring just after 11am.
At first a tiny notch appears on the
edge of the sun, then it gradually
becomes a crescent shape.
The moon slowly creeps across the sun
for about an hour and a half and
shadows can be seen moving around it.
