LORDS TO HOLD MAMMOTH DEBATE ON REFORM
Moves to scrap hereditary peers'
centuries-old rights to sit and vote in
the Lords faces a marathon debate in
the House next week.
More than 70 members are expected to
speak during the two-day debate on the
Government's awaited reform Bill.
The Bill is expected to meet a strong
resistance from peers who believe there
are yet more reforms to come.
But Lords Leader Baroness Jay of
Paddington has vowed to enforce it.
