 GRASSROOT TORIES WANT "MUSCULAR" LEADER
 Grassroots Tories want William Hague to
 "take the gloves off" and stand up to  
 the government, according to motions   
 submitted to next month's conference.  
                                        
 A number of motions support Mr Hague on
 his anti-Monetary Union stance.        
                                        
 But one, from Halifax, says he should  
 "show this Government up for the       
 shallow, hypocritical, pinky Socialists
 that they really are".                 
                                        
 And another from Liverpool calls for a 
 "united and muscular" Tory front.
