CEEFAX 2 141 Thu 17 Sep 17:59/31 ************ ************************** * *** *** ** ************** ************ ************** 3/7 ALERT AFTER MINK RELEASED FROM FUR FARM Police have issued an urgent alert after more than 7,000 mink were released from their cages on a farm.
The animals were freed early this morning from the farm in Onneley, near Madeley in Staffordshire.
Police said most were contained on the farm but that some 2,000 were on the loose.
Farmer Len Kelsall blamed animal activists and said he had been targeted by demonstrators in the past.
