  Axe falls on 700 jobs at Vickers      
                                        
                                        
 Defence group Vickers is axing 700 jobs
 following a downturn in orders.        
                                        
 Up to 450 jobs will go in Leeds with   
 the closure of the tank factory, 200   
 will be shed in Newcastle and another  
 50 will be axed in Wolverhampton.      
                                        
  Bradford-based supermarket chain     
 Morrisons is to open 10 new stores this
 year, creating 2,500 jobs and safe-    
 guarding another 500.
