 GOVT TO INCREASE "SUPER-NURSE" NUMBERS
The Government is to increase the
 number of so-called "super-nurses" in
 Britain's hospitals.

 The super-nurse scheme, with salaries
of £40,000 offered, has been criticised
for targeting just a handful of staff.

But Health Secretary Frank Dobson told
BBC1's Breakfast With Frost the number
of super-nurses will rise to thousands.

Mr Dobson also said 1,600 trained
nurses who had left the profession had
 gone back on the wards.
