 There are many astounding facts        
 surrounding solar eclipses.            
                                        
  The last total solar eclipse seen in 
 the UK mainland was on June 29, 1927.  
                                        
  The first total eclipse of the new   
 millennium will be in 2001 - best seen 
 in Africa.                             
                                        
  Every calendar year there can be up  
 to five eclipses somewhere on Earth.   
                                        
  Partial eclipses are more common,    
 when the moon partly obscures the sun.
