The National Trust will raise another £2m to restore the 1824 building, which will then be opened to the public.
In its heyday the workhouse took in 158 people from 49 parishes, who worked in return for food and clothing. The Trust hope it will help public understanding of the history of poverty and welfare. News 101 Finance 200 Sport 300 Weather 400 Travel 430 TV 460
