 BOOKER SELLS SEED BUSINESS FOR £29m    
 Food wholesaler Booker is to sell its  
 Danish horticultural seed business     
 L Daehnfeld to US private equity fund  
 Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst for £29m.  
                                        
 It will use the proceeds of the sale to
 pay down net debt.                     
                                        
 The divestment is part of Booker's     
 strategy of offloading non-core        
 activities to allow it to concentrate  
 on its cash & carry business.          
                                        
 The group recently failed in merger    
 attempts with supermarket operators    
 Somerfield and Budgens.
