 R/UNION IRISH MAKE TWO SIGNINGS        
 London Irish have recruited Australia's
 former national team strength and      
 conditioning coach Dirk Williams.      
                                        
 "Ensuring player fitness is essential  
 for teams that want to compete         
 effectively in the Premiership," said  
 Irish's director of rugby Dick Best.   
                                        
 "Dirk has the expertise and experience 
 to contribute greatly to our efforts at
 Sunbury," he added.                    
                                        
 Irish have also signed New Zealander,  
 30, Matthew Bird, who has appeared for 
 Hawkes Bay and the Central Maoris.
