 OIL PALS STRIKE IT RICH ON THE LOTTERY 
 A 16-strong group of friends has       
 scooped £11m in the UK's largest       
 Lottery syndicate win, each taking     
 £687,500 from the Sept 12 rollover.    
                                        
 The group, friends from their time at a
 Newcastle oil rig production firm,     
 formed to bet on the pools but switched
 to the Lottery when it was launched.   
                                        
 Syndicate leader Les Evans was watching
 "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" when  
 he checked the numbers.
