 The battle for more grant-aid justice  
 for the Isle of Wight begins in the    
 High Court in London on Tuesday, 14    
 December when the Council takes the    
 major step of seeking a Judicial Review
 over proposals made by the Government  
 to the European Commission.            
                                        
 Deputy Council Leader, Councillor Harry
 Rees says "We firmly believe that      
 treatment meted out to the Island is   
 totally unjust and flies in the face of
 the Amsterdam Treaty which clearly     
 acknowledges that Islands within the EU
 have particular economic and social    
 problems."
