 The Council's Education Service has    
 been awarded a two-year contract to    
 provide educational advice and training
 to the tiny Caribbean island of        
 Anguilla.                              
                                        
 The contract which is worth £300,000   
 over two years has been awarded by the 
 Government's Department for            
 International Development.             
                                        
 Situated in the Leeward Islands group, 
 Anguilla measures ten miles by four and
 has a population of 10,000. The economy
 is slowly improving with offshore      
 banking a growing industry, although   
 many islanders remain poor.         1/2
