 Mark Chiverton, Secretary of the Isle  
 of Wight local government branch of    
 UNISON, said "I certainly intend to    
 sign up to this. I am sure that many   
 other employees will do the same. But  
 at the end of the day it must be a     
 matter of individual choice - people   
 should not feel pressured."            
                                        
 Council staff have a good record for   
 enthusiastically supporting charitable 
 causes over the years. Only this month 
 £765.06 was raised for the Great Ormond
 Street Hospital's Jeans for Genes
