 Many Council staff will have a         
 shortfall in the final pay cheque of   
 this millennium - but there won't be   
 any complaints!                        
                                        
 They will be among the many thousands  
 of people acrmss the UK who will have  
 agreed to voluntarily donate their     
 final hour's earnings from this        
 millennium to the Children's Promise   
 appeal - aimed at helping seven major  
 charities who work for children in this
 country.  Both Prime Minister, Tony    
 Blair and the Chairman of Marks and    
 Spencer, Brian Baldock, have already   
 pledged their own final hour's earnings
