 HISTORY Wool in Dorset has been donated
 a two tonne piece of Portland Stone to 
 be used as a millennium memorial. The  
 stone will be carved into a 6ft        
 sculpture for the village.             
                                        
 RESCUE Weymouth lifeboat rescued a     
 small yacht which got into difficulties
 in turbulent water off St Alban's Head 
 last night. Only one person was on     
 board and he was unhurt.               
                                        
 LOTTERY Westgate Leisure Centre in     
 Chichester has failed in its bid for a 
 £2.5m lottery award towards            
 refurbishment and enhancement. The     
 district council has approved changes.
