 Hungarian daily Nepszabadsag puts      
 Russia's expected victory in Chechnya  
 into perspective.                      
                                        
 It quotes President Clinton as saying  
 that the Chechen war will be expensive 
 for Russia, adding that these are not  
 financial but geopolitical losses.     
                                        
 Russia was forced to accept that       
 Georgia and Azerbaijan become part of  
 the US's sphere of interest, that China
 gets more say in Central Asia and in   
 the Far East, and its monopoly in the  
 Caucasus is diminished, it adds.
