Coverage extends from West and SE England to the Midlands and includes heavily populated areas of N England, Central Scotland, S Wales and N Ireland
Many major roads and motorways are also covered.
Virgin, Classic FM, Talk Radio and seven new stations will offer national digital services. There could be up to 16 regional and local services as well, provided by the BBC and others.
