How will we receive digital tv? There's a choice of three systems (or platforms): via an aerial (Digital Terrestrial), satellite dish (Digital Satellite) or cable (Digital Cable). All three will require a set-top box to decode the digital signal, and each will have an on-screen Electronic Programme Guide which will appear when you turn on the TV.
The next stage will be integrated digital TV sets which will negate the need for a separate set-top box and will allow greater interactivity. All of the BBC's free-to-air programmes will be available on all systems.
